C. Pierre LaTour


May 16, 1935 – February 2, 2006

C. Pierre Latour was born on May 16, 1935. His father, an artist himself,

taught Pierre how to paint as a child. His father taught him in a very traditional, academic style and his training by his father was fundamental to his development as an artist.

As Latour grew as an artist he created his own paintings unique to him by imagining places where he would like to be and then painted the scene from his imagination. Latour’s subject matter has become easily recognizable to the art world. Pierre is best known for his beautiful

color palette whether painting a flower market, city scene, or a barge on a river. Many feel he is able to bring serenity and peace to the viewer by the color combinations he chooses.

C. Pierre Latour’s reputation as a talented artist has quickly risen around the world. His paintings are in high demand.
